Unlimited bandwidth / space hosting for $10 / month
This is one of the most common traps that a newbie webmaster falls into. But only after making the payment will they know about it.
I just want to make something clear. There is no such thing as unlimited hosting. The provider has to pay for the bandwidth and space. Since they say unlimited, many people will start hosting their site with them and as the number of sites hosted on the server increases, the speed of the server decreases steeply. Also their is possiblity of your site also getting blacklisted due to fraudulent activity by other sites hosted in the same ip.
Well they say unlimited yes.. But they do not mean unlimited because in all seriousness how much bandwidth do you really use? I have 4 sites and only use around 3-5gb a month but have 2TB of bandwidth.. I guess this is a good guide. People should stay away from unlimited hosting.
Buy the bare minimum at first, then upgrade when necessary. That is the best information I could give, too many people are spending so much extra money on space they will never use.
First off, unlimited bandwidth would just not be possible. I think some webmasters often confuse it with unmetered, which is very common once you get to vps or dedicated servers. But shared hosting accounts rarely allow unmetered bandwidth. Plus most of these offers have some clauses in their AUP or TOS that prevents you from using up too much bandwidth anyway.
Ya i was looking for enough space with lots of bandwidth when i got mine... but i didnt want to get a terrible quality host.. So i looked around and found hostmonster.com 5$/month couldnt go wrong..
I fell for the unlimited bandwidth several years ago. I decided to provide an image hosting service for auction sellers, and I selected a company that advertised unlimited. Needless to say I found another host when I got my first bandwidth bill 3 months later. It was over 500 dollars. I did pay the bill, but I moved as quick as I could to a dedicated server.
Unmetered bandwidth should be the right term because your server has limitations in the first place. This should also apply to unlimited database or unlimited sub domain names hypes. They should be coined as multiple.
Unlimited bandwidth? There's nothing like that present in web hosting. Like sweeper said, the actual word is Unmetered bandwidth. They don't even know the correct word then how can you expect them to provide you a better service?
I think that we should always try to get the best deal without being greedy and fall into a trap.
We just have to be careful and choose a reputed company.
