I have been a paypal guy for a long time now...found it to be a pretty good system and a great tool....E-Gold intrigues me tho and as it is starting to become a more acceptable way of paying for things, I may soon open an account. anyone Experianced any major downsides with E-Gold?

Egold is the only payment processor I can use to receive funds or cash. In sending funds or payment, I can use paypal. I wish to use paypal for receiving money, but I learned that this is not allowed in our country because of some issues on money laundering.

I have 3 payment processors on my books - Paypal, egold and moneybookers.
When it comes to major transactions, paypal would be my preferred payment option.

Hands down, paypal still is the most used payment processor. I think one reason is that it is mostly used by eBay buyers and sellers. Just wanted to post a question though, which company came first, paypal or e-gold?

I do have e-Gold, PayPal, Netpay, Pecunix and e-Bullion. e-Bullion is my preferred by far. I know many businesses use PayPal, but you never know from which paragraph in the TOS you're liable to get your account closed by. No, not talking about engaging in illegal activities, but you do need to keep up with which types of businesses you're paying to in case they're on the no-no list. For almost all ebay activity, you're safe.

As soon as PayPal expands worldwide, I think it'll attract more 'interest' which Paypal would much rather avoid.

General internet sales sites will often accept e-Gold and e-Bullion, especially if you're talking about investments. If they're HYIPs it's usually e-Gold since in the past they just turned their head to not see all the thieves based there and of course the reason for so much illegal activity associated with them. To their credit, that is changing now. But more and more legitimate sites are allowing e-Bullion. With e-Bullion, you can request a check sent right to your doorstep. Their main processor, Goldfinger, has major bank accounts to which you can direct deposit. e-Gold provides neither of these capabilities.

Thanks for listening,

I use PayPal for eBay and physical products as well as subscription services, Mal's Ecommerce for the money order feature and clickbank for digital products.
