No didn't try it yet, but i heard it is still in Alpha stage. It still has a long way to go, but my friends who used it said, it was good and it can seriously compete with google, if only it could index tons of pages which google does.
I thought it already got out of Beta? Guess not.
I haven't been back there to check it out, mostly because it doesn't interest me, but I'll most likely take a look when it is 100% complete and I hear rave reviews about it.
I used wikipedia's search engine and found it to be not even closer at even at the half way stage of the other search engines like google, yahoo, etc. I feel that wikipedia should stay with what they are best, that is wikipedia and should not enter others field such as search engines!
I agree that they should leave well enough alone.
They're pretty good at what they do, they provide a lot.
I hope they don't plan on being greedy like Google.
Wikipedia has a lot of users around the world, no doubt they will jump into search engine field. In internet, seem everything is possible. Like the current issues Microsoft-Yahoo-Google.
I don't think they should stick with the search engine. It's a waste of time, space, energy and money.
It doesn't have top 3 potential, I'm not even sure it was top 10 potential.
Everyone hope to get into search engine because this is a huge opportunity to earn a lot. Wikipedia also hope to get earn from that. I strongly recommand they will concentrate with what their doing now.
