How does google calculate the site for page rank? Is the number of backlinks or quality of backlinks?

To calculate the PageRank for a page, all of its inbound links are taken into account. These are links from within the site and links from outside the site.

keywords play the important role in pageranks...for each page, find the most important keywords that describe that page. Use those keywords in the elements title and h1, in the description and keywords meta tags, and in the text itself, especially at the beginning of the page.

The quality of the backlinks are definitely more important than the sheer number.

Keyword density affects where your site will appear in the search results. A person may think that the higher your page rank the higher up your site will appear in the search results but that isnt true.

Try it out. Do a search for any keyword or phrase and look at the sites in the results and check the PR. You will often see PR2 sites and even PR1's listed above PR4 and higher sites. I have even seen two or three PR0 sites and then a PR6.

They use one way backlinks most of the time! Number of indexed pages has very little bearing on whether or not your site has page rank!

You cant really be sure as to how they do it. I know now that most of the time it matters with one way links from high PR sites.. But I wonder how they made up the whole system in the first place.

Hi,
In my opinion Quality baclink is important than the number of backlinks to calculate the Page Rank.

But acquiring the Quality backlinks is little bit tough.Anyway both are important for the Page Rank...
