Do New Sites Always Go Supplemental?

Just curious to see if anyone else have this happen. I have a new site (les than a month old) with only a couple of links from some directories and as soon as google found my site after a week or two most of the pages that were indexed turned supplemental. If this is the case then there is no chance of ranking a new site.

The Next Update is in April...However new a website is if it is good and properly optimized, then you will get a good ranking
