Best web directory software

I know this is a very much controversial topic. I've read much on it before. But now that I'm going to start my own web directory, I want to get the latest info on this. Which is the best web directory software available? Please share your views. Explain why you think a software is good / bad?

phpLD is very good. I think the paid version of eSyndicat is good, but their free version is really bad and hasn't been updated in over a year.

One that isnt on your list is called IndexScript. I think that is a really good script and they update it very often. You should consider checking out IndexScript to see what you think of it. It is free and has a lot of great features such as:

Bulk review - you can approve or reject all listings of a certain type with one click.

Listing type options - You can create as many listing types as you want.

Check boxes alongside all submissions in pending list - check the ones you want to approve or reject and get them all with one click.

Easy to customize - You can design your own look relatively easy.

well they all have their advantages and disadvantages, i voted phpLD since i have always used them since their categories and boards are easy to manage and so is payments

I have voted for phpLD but you forgot to add " site-sift " script which is also a good one and the best part is that its free and has almost every feature of phpLd but its not theme based script .

phpLD is very good. I agree with this statement, the features are good and so is the support. There is a wealth of information to be had just by talking to people who use the software!

phpLD is what i voted for as it seems to be the best.. I dont use this type of software but overall had the most features.

I've never needed to use web directory software myself, I asked some associates and they said phpLD also

I also voted for phpLD because it's SEO friendly directory list,I know lot of people are using Phpld script only, I think nearly over 25k websites are using phpld script.
