Default Alexa

Alexa isnt really a search engine but a ranking system. Many people use them to check traffic, but I dont like then since they are very inaccurate, anyone use them or rely on them?

I don't use them unless I'm trying to sell a domain or website. I always prove my Alexa as some people do actually like a decent rank.

Hi,
Alexa is for sure a search engine. But it is not yielding better search results. They say that Alexa is a new type of search engine which combines the quality of Google search.

But I don't know about its ranking procedure. And can anyone furnish me with all the details of it.

Basically, Alexa ranks websites based on their traffic.

Between PR and Alexa, which shoud be chosen as yardstick in determining the "value" of a website? PR is more on back links while Alexa as mentioned above dwells on website traffic. The bottom line however is that they are correlated.

Using Alexa for buying and selling sites is my main reason for visiting it. There's also a website called alexadex that uses alexa's stats for a fake website investing.

Most serious webmasters that I know are simply laughing at the notion of judging a website or domain by its Alexa stats.
