Well, lets get this section started. I for one have never been a victim of identity theft, and I hope I never am. Sadly not everyone can say this, post stories if it happened to you, or someone you know..How did it work out.
I know a person that this happened to. People stole her credit card information and started charging things to it. If you are smart about it though you shouldn't have any problems.
Between ..

i think my friend went to a site and bought some clothes from a place in China. I told her to be careful about it and in about a month she had her credit cards maxed out.
I know someone who had their card details stolen a couple of years back, but thats all. I don't know anyone who has had loans taken out in their name or anything extreme like that.

hmm...heard a lot abt this stuff...the only soln to dis is to buy things only from tusted and verified sites witha certificate...or else ull b duped!!
Sadly I've been a vicitim. I visited California during summer break and I live in Michigan. After about 2 months, I saw that someone had charged one of my credit cards close to $5000.
Luckily everything was taken for and I did not have to pay anything.
I thought it would never happen to me but it did. Not a good feeling at all. Try to use cash as much as possible when on vacation.
My identity theft happened at a gas station. So a suggestion would be never to swipe your card at a gas station.
