Default Bank account creation

A group of people was arrested recently here in our place. They have access to the names of the persons that has bank accounts abroad. They open an account here in our country using the same name (of the persons that has account abroad) and ask for the bank (abroad) to transfer their savings on their newly opened account here.

The bank personnel knew that the presented ID's were faked that is why their modus operandi was easily discovered.

That is disgraceful. At least the people got caught. The thought that all the security to open a bank account is useless because all it takes is a corrupt staff member to just open one anyway is scary

The people who were caught knew somebody from the post office. Since all the papers for remittances were transmitted thru post office, they were able to get the list of persons who has bank accounts abroad including their bank details.

I am really glad they were caught.

lol! That is definitely extreme, hanged for identity theft. Maybe a harsher punishment for violators can help lessen these attacks but I don't think they should lose their life over this. Maybe a 20 to 30 year sentence.

Cool Talk is cheap!

Now with new privacy laws and the responsibility of the Business to take reasonable measures to protect consumers private information, blah blah blah talk is cheap and the govt doesn know what to do. Victims need to be aware of what rights they have. I believe that we need to fight back. I do. I call my attorney and find out my rights.
More people could if they also had the same legal plan as I do.
Take a look at what piece of mind and so called "legal muscle" you can have.
