I am very weary when I get emails from these. I almost got phished by one if I didn't look in the address bar to see it wasn't Paypal I was logging into. They are very clever.

I actually think it is when you register a debit card, how, I don't know. But as soon as I registered my debit card on both sites, I was getting fake emails from both. I don't know how they do this.

If you use paypal buttons on your websites, there are programs that will crawl sites for the email addresses. Some just crawl for any old email address, and they send the notices to all in the hopes that some do use PayPal and will believe the email.

I get phishing emails stating my bank & trust account needs more information, and I don't even know what bank & trust is.
