Default Can Someone Define Phishing?

I can see everyone talking about this phishing. Could someone define it for me and the others who may not know what it is exactly?

A duplicate site in which you will be prompted to give your personal information such as passwords, e-mail address and other more information and it does not go to the site's real database but to other malicious people who will use your personal information for their own benefit.
