Default Child claim scam

I'm getting pretty fed up with people who basically claim other peoples kids to get tax money. The thing that grinds my gears the most is when the parents allow people to do this and get some of the money.

How are they doing this without the kid's Social Security numbers? If the parents are already claiming them they can't be claimed twice. You need a SS# now to claim children. How is this possible anymore?

This is a blatant form of tax evasion. It happens to countries which are laxed in the enforcement of their tax laws. But for most of the countries this is a major offense.

If they take care of these kids then they have the right to claim them on taxes regardless of whether or not they're biologically theirs.

All children when born are issued with a social security number and parents automatically claim for their child, a child can not be claimed for twice.

I have heard of stories where people have claimed for children who are deceased, I am not sure how they go about it but there was a large story in our newspaper not long ago about this happening.

I do know for a fact and one mother who I speak to at the school has told me that she has 3 children who are living in Poland, she has 2 here in Ireland and she is claiming for all 5 here in Ireland. Her other 3 children live with her parents and they visit often.

It's okay for them to claim other peoples' kids if they're taking care of them.

May be those people are paying for fees, books and general take care of poor children and are taking the tax benefit on them as it is happening already
