Thumbs down Why does PayPal take so long?

I have started using my Paypal account more lately, even though I've had the account for few years.

Undoubtedly it's a good service and makes transfers of money really easy, especially when using eBay but can anyone please tell me WHY it takes up to (and usually does) 7 days for you to transfer money from your bank account to your Paypal account?

This is one of the biggest downsides of Paypal for me, seriously 7 days!

What are your opinions on this?

It's the same also with the paypal money transfer to my bank account.

Maybe it's just the process of banks that's taking too long.

Nah thats not the case, I actually went to my bank and asked my account to be reviews infront of me.

I requested money from Payal on the 23rd of November, and Paypal requested money from my "VERIFIED" bank account on the 27th of November!

whats going on? then finally I received my money on the 28th November - 5 days (lucky shot, usually its 7)

The delay depends mainly in the money conversion. For Indians, the rupees has to be converted to dollars as PP does not support rupees. Then it needs to included in your PP account. This process takes time...

It only takes two days max for me. It depends on your bank most of the time, not PayPal. It's a security precaution for some banks.

Yeah it does seem to vary depending on your bank.

For me it's usually taken about 5 days or so, even less. However when you make a payment using your verified bank account it's instant. It's too bad it doesn't work like that when receiving your money..

I think the problem is because of Unverified Account. Paypal takes 48 hrs to process the transfer either way.

It may be because of the country i guess, because normally it take less than 48 hrs here...
