Default Refunding a Payment

If you have a Business paypal account and you have received a payment of $50 and $1.5 fees was deducted from your account, now when you refund the payment.. how will it work?

* $50 will be debited from my account and returned to him.
* $50+$1.5 will be debited from my account and returned to him.

Thanks in advance.

If you give a refund, they only take back the amount you received. So in that case, you would have received $48.50 and when you refund it, they will debit $48.50 from your account.

What chargebacks said was correct. The amount you recieve (After fees) is the amount they will take out. The sender of the money will recieve everything back, including the fees though.

When I refund a payment, it works like this..

The money which I received (after fees deduction) is removed from my account, and the sender receives the full money he sent.

Yes $1.5 is the transaction fees . Whether you accept it or deny it ,the 1.5 will be deducted.

I think he will only get $48.50 as fee is compulsory for paypal. The transaction fees are not refunded at any cost

I think so, if you refund the money after accepting the money from that man. He will be receiving only $48.5, as you have made a transaction with paypal, they will catch up a fee from you.

The $1.5 fees was Paypal's share .So I think paypal will not compromise on its fee structure for a refund.
