Default Paypal Secure?

Hey everyone,

It is beginning to come to my attention that people are charging back payments for absolutely no reason! Generally, items have been given but Paypal just ticks through the list and rewards the money back to it's original owner.

I feel that this is a little too insecure as everyone could just charge back payments and having an actual dollar in your Paypal account could be worth millions! I know that if they were to take away charge backs, it would be even more insecure but it is just worth thinking about a little!

Kind regards,
-Clookid

Yes, I suppose! I mean, the administrator of this site for example... Is a well reputed member at Digital Point, if he was a member with an iTrader of 0 then I am sure that many people would not do business with you.

It is hard to get started, I will say that much!

Yes , you have mentioned a good point but nothing can be done about it . all you can do is to make sure that you are dealing with a right person . If you are dealing with some one whom you found on a forum then always look for the reputation / Itrader of the person .

Definitely, not only buyers are being scammed right now, even merchants as well. But I do think it is very much unfair in the sellers part as paypal tend to go to the side of the buyer in times such as a chargeback is being processed.

i think that paypal could also give a few more options to the sellers when they have a charge back. I can definatly understand it would be very hard for paypal to do anything as its a hard choice to make because they dont know what the real truth is and they do the best they can. If they added more features to sellers like i said then it could take away from the buyer needing what is done right.

What do you suggest they do?

Paypal has a limit on the amount of chargebacks you can claim i believe it is 3 a year. I also think if you are using alot of money you should just meet the person instead of putting all your trust on the internet.

Yes, you can only have a chargeback 3 times a year. So I think that is one way paypal also secures the sellers or merchants that uses their service. I think they should still come up with something more secured though.

If you are afraid of chargebacks then use escrow service for wire transfer so that both buyer and seller are protected. Fees is little high but its worth it.
