Default Incident with paypal

When I was getting married 2 years ago I purchased alot of items online and many of the sites used paypal as form of payment, one particular company accepted my payment through paypal and a few days later I was sent an email from the company telling me that my money had not been sent through paypal, I contacted paypal and they said no money was sent and they sent me the payment request form, I re did it and I noticed 3 weeks later that my credit card had been charged twice, I contacted mt bank and I was told to contact paypal which I did and they were of no help, I had to fill out a complaint and they said there was nothing they could do about it.

If you are purchasing goods using paypal, be careful and ensure that you keep all documents related to the payment you made, that way no one can say you never sent the payment and paypal can not try to charge you twice.

I agree, not only in PayPal, you should keep a copy of payment confirmation in every payment processor you use. Never happened this to me, but when you do payments online you always have to be careful.

Be careful also in using your credit card in funding your Paypal account. I have had an experience when I made a double posting paying directly using my credit card and using Paypal funded out from that credit card. Until now Paypal has yet to make the necessary reversal to my credit card account even if it has already reversed the payment to my seller.

Yes I do agree that if you keep all documentation on sales or purchases that you have made it does make life a lot easier for everyone. I did make a purchase one time it was for ink for my printer, I waited many months for my delivery and I was getting very anxious because I had not received it, I contacted the company and they told me that they had no record of my purchase, I explained that the charges had been debited from my credit card and they asked me for an order number, thankfully I had saved all the documents they had sent me via email and I forwarded them on to the company, I had my delivery within 4 days and they gave me photograph paper by way of apology.

This was a good result because the company were willing to accommodate me if I had the required documents, if I had not have saved all my receipts I would not have received my order.

When making purchases online I save all documents for at least 3 months after I receive the delivery.

I have found from previous experience that PayPal are not willing to accommodate you with errors made on your behalf, if you have made a mistake while making payment they will open a dispute where you can voice your side of the error and very rarely they refund or try to get your money back for you.

I am always very careful when making a payment however I have made one or two mistakes and there were no refunds or even an attempt of a refund.

That's the reason why I removed all my credit card information in my Paypal account to be sure it won't happen again. Paypal has been encouraging account holders to use credit card payment thru Paypal for added security. But this added layer proves to be a big hassle if an error takes place. It is better to pay directly using your card.
