One thing to always remember is that PayPal never asks you for personal information within emails, ever!
No matter how legitimate that email from "PayPal" looks, it's not.

The following is a scam!

Quote:
Dear PayPal User,

As part of our security measures, we regularly screen activity in the
PayPal system. During a recent screening, we noticed an issue regarding
your account. Your account may have been accessed by an unauthorized
third party. We recently received a report of unauthorized credit card use
associated with this account.

As a precaution, we are requesting additional verification of your payment
and personal information in order to protect your PayPal account against
future unauthorized transactions.

Please follow the link below and complete the requested information. The
situation will be immediately reviewed by the fraud department and we will
remove any holds on this account.

The link is Paypal' s legitimate URL? For a newbie it does not look like a scam because it appears like the exact Paypal's official URL. The question is what if this is indeed Paypal's official notice?

What is wrong in that link? It seems to me that it is legitimately Paypal's link.

That link was edited. Maybe so users wouldn't get curious and click on it.

PayPal emails usually refer to their users as "Hello [Your full name]", I have never received an official PayPal email without it.
If you get an email without your name in the main of the message, then probably it's a scam. Be careful with these emails anyway and avoid to get scammed.

The only emails I ever get from them are the ones telling me about payments I make and or receive.
