Default What is click fraud and how does it occur?

So, what is click fraud and how does it occur? Wikipedia provides us with a definition:

Quote:
"Clíck fraud occurs in pay per clíck online advertising when a person, automated scrípt, or computer program imitates a legitimate user of a web browser clicking on an ad, for the purpose of generating an improper charge per clíck. Clíck fraud is the subject of some controversy and increasing litigation due to the advertising networks being a key beneficiary of the fraud whether they like it or not."
Click fraud will either get you banned or even sued depending on the severity of the situation.

Thought this might be helpful.

Short and to the point:

Click fraud is when you or someone else clicks your ads multiple amounts of times.

Intentional or not, if you don't report to them as soon as you notice it happening, they'll assume you're at fault and ban you.

There is so many ways where you can caught as click fraud.

1. If you click you PPC ads
2. if you request your friend to click on ads
3. if someone repeatedly click on your ads to make you down
etc

I just get banned once from Adsense because someone made about 200 clicks on my ads, i just contacted them and explained all, i also know who it was (a banned user from my forum) i gived his IP to google and after they have done an investigation i got my account back.

But dont expect to have so much luck as i, they will ban you if they detect fraud.

Well, if your account has been banned by Google, you should immediately tell them that it wasn't your fault and that they should investigate. Most of the time, your account will be restored. As for preventing such things, I don't think you can.
