cv2 is the best in my book, I have not used anything else and probably never will in the future! The features are awesome!

Are you talking about CVV2 number which is three digit credit card verification number and can be found on back of the credit card? It is used to reduce card not present environment fraud.

I think both are good and both have some plus and minus.
CVV is fast while address verification will take some time. Both can or can't be secure...

If you would like more sale coversion, choose CV2 because it is easier to pay. Otherwise if you would like to reduce online payment fraud, use the address verification system.

I think both are just complementery to each other , but i like CVV as i think its fast and we can utilize the time somewhere else.

Hardly anyone uses the address verification system anymore. Usually they just verify the zip code and that is it. Companies are afraid if they make it too hard to use your card online they will lose a sale.

They certainly should! I'd be the first to agree that Card Not Present merchants are at the mercy of just about everyone, but if you don't use AVS and ship to the verified address, you have no chance at all of reversing a chargeback. None - zip - nadda - zilch.

You shouldn't rely on CV2 alone. Chances are if a thief has stolen a credit card number, they have figured out by now that they simply need to also get the cv2 number off the card. Also, you not including the information for an AVS check automatically changes the charge status to non-qualified for most merchants which they will be charge a lot higher rate to charge the card.
