Thread: Question about merchant accounts!

What is a high risk merchant account I keep hearing about all over the web? Is this a merchant account that has fraud involved in it?

High risk merchant accounts are accounts that the associations (visa/MC) feel are more prone to fraud. These are usually designated by SIC or MCC code.

These typically are businesses involved with adult, gaming, gambling, quasi-cash, and prepaid.
