Is this true? I will probably check Xoom's site. I would like to have a paypal account so that I can participate to a lot transaction online.

I'll post here if I was able to use it.

I guess that is kind of to be expected considering it saves you the hassle of having to go through all the work of signing up.

To use XOOM to transfer paypal money into your bank account ...
You must use same name in paypal account and same in bank account.

Btw,Never tried XOOM ...I mostly get some exchanger who exchange my paypal for INR

Regards,
Rajat

You can receive Paypal funds from Xoom if you don't a Paypal account. The amount you receive can be picked in your accredited local bank or it can be deposited directly to your local bank. Not all countries are serviced by Xoom. The minimum Paypal funds to transfer is $20 . The fees are quite high.

Here is the answer:

Xoom is a service which helps you get money directly to your bank account (which supports electronic transfer) in 2 - 4 business days..

It asks you to first transfer money to its PayPal account.

The fees is $8 - $15 depending upon the amount.

The USD to INR rate is pretty good..Around 41.54 today.

The advantage is only the time and direct deposit to the bank.

PayPal takes a month to reach to India.

Definitely Xoom's transaction fees are much lower than that of Western Union. If you receive funds sent thru Xoom, it is much to better receive the funds in dollar denomination than in your local currency.
