I have seen auctions similar to these all the time. You always have to keep a keen eye on each and every auction you bid on. Always be alert.

I see this all the time, and the very bottom of the auctions. For example they will put a picture of a computer then at the bottom say it is a CD for booting up a PC. Ebay needs to put some rules against this out.

eBay would place rules on this, but technically it's completely legal if the ad isn't deceptive in any way. Some sell links to where you can buy gaming systems, and not the systems themselves, but the auction clearly states (usually after a lot of text) that people are bidding for an informational link only.

Even if the bids go in the hundreds, it's all legal and it does not violate ebay's terms of services since they clearly allow informational products.

Sure the sellers gets a neg, but all they do is start a new account and do it again if the negs add up and hurt their sales. eBay makes it too easy to start with a clean plate, for both sellers and buyers. ALOT of the scams on eBay would be prevented if they had a one account per person rule.

This isn't really e-Bay fraud is it? You just have to be sure to read the description fully and carefully, and if you have any questions, to ask the seller a question before placing your bid on it.

Woah, the reason the guy made the auction is to make money through deception. The fact is, the auction IS DECEPTIVE. No one with a sound mind would pay 100 Euros for a picture of a game. Email ebay saying you thought it was the actual game, and that you're really upset, and may never use ebay again due to this experience. Tell them you'll tell your friends how you ebay experience went to. That way, they'd be more inclined to help you

Its your fault that you didnt read the desc of the good clearly. Probably he would have mentioned it in the auction.
