Default Reducing Fraud on Merchant Accounts

Credit card transactions are mostly preferred by consumers. Because of this, being a merchant account is a great way to increase the company's sales by almost 400%. But along this increase, is the risk of involving into fraud transactions.

I have found out that merchants can use fraud screening software to reduce the fraud transactions. If you're into this, better check FraudGuardian and Varilogix. Both of them are fraud screening software mostly recommended by those involved in merchant accounts.

I am glad to know that there are "fraud screening software" available for screening but i haven't seen this being used on any other site .

How can fraud screening softwares detect fraud? Are they only used for online transactions? If you would have to buy those softwares, I believe that it is much better to train your employees or learn yourself how to be a legitimate merchant, may it be online or not.

If these are effective, there could have been lesser fraud transaction cases nowadays. Or maybe these softwares are not yet fully introduced to merchants. Maybe a trial version can be offered so we can review the funcationalities.

Here is a list for some information for a seller, about how to inc. chances of a chargeback ::::

1. Proof of postage or delivery, such as online tracking numbers2

2. Copies of the original item description or auction description, including any photos

3.Proof that the buyer was already refunded

4.Proof that the buyer was provided with a replacement product

5. Correspondence with the buyer or feedback from the buyer

6.Any agreements signed or accepted by the buyer at time of purchase

A faxed physical signature usually goes a long way towards preventing fraud. But if not, then use the AVS. It is the acronym for the address verification service, which matches up the address on the card to the billing address that customers provide.
