Default Order form

When we are making transactions online, I noticed that merchant account owners use a sort of form to their sites. I am just curious about this form. Do merchant accounts use a standard form or they just create their own? I think CGI scripting is involved in creating forms like this. What encryption is also used?

If you accept credit cards online, you are required to at least use an SSL Cert. While some don't, it's pretty standard. A direct order form just means that the merchant accepts the credit card # directly and transmits that data to their payment gateway directly. It can be done with virtually any scripting language, not just cgi but php, asp, java, just about anything.

That online form is almost same and all merchants have to and should use that security form . I think we know that type of security as SSL . AM i right ?

If the online form doesnt contain SSL means it is likely to be hacked
so better avoid giving credit cards in those forms
