What are your top 5 methods to build your links for websites?

Here are mine:

1. Join forums and put link in sig but follow rules
2. Submit to directories, doesnt matter PR
3. Count on search engines to crawl and index.
4. Buy links or do 3 way link exchanges
5. Word of mouth, not to help link backs but for traffic

Well I have another one for you, Blog posts, its like my number 6 lol, but blog posts help a lot since they have direct rss feeds. The more the better.

You forgot the most important thing. You must build a good content for your site. It should be sustainable and not a night stand content.

Excellent write up, I curently use some of the same methods you do. I always try and get the people linking to me that rank above me also!
