Default Photoshop vs. The Gimp

Anyone here have any particular issues with these two very unique programs for creating graphic images. Post here about the pros and cons of using each.

I have used both and I prefer photoshop over gimp anyday.

Gimp -- You need too many windows open to get the same features as photoshop and PS CS2 still has more features and filters than GIMP. But GIMP is free lo. Thats about it.

Photoshop: Very Good Program. A++ With Some Very Unique Feature Gimp Doesn't Have

Gimp: Awesome Program With Less Resources Than Photoshop. But Free Program

I think the freeness of Gimp is really the only main factor driving its development.

The major advantage about Photoshop is the amazing community of users and the amount of good information and add ons (in the form of brushes, templates, scripts, filters, font, tutorials). due to the sole strength of the community, Photoshop is not going anywhere anytime soon...Gimp can't make claims like photoshop can about community....although it is free......

The only good thing about Gimp is that it is free.
However i feel that Photoshop still has some advantages over it.
Photoshop has a more professional feel.

Gimp is not far behind Photoshop I feel. The good thing is that there is a large and dynamic community behind it and thus ensures a lot of extension being created.

Pros for photoshop are user friendly, nice GUI, massive amounts of plugins, and exportation! Those are just some of the reasons to use photoshop!~

Photoshop for sure. I find it so user friendly and relativily easy to use and does many different features which help hugely when doing projects etc.
