Default Google VS. eBay

I have read in a document online that eBay has banned Google Checkout from being used for business in their site; but the news I've read dated to last year and I have not heard of any new news about it lately. Anybody knows anything about this news or has an update? Please share it in this thread. Thank you!

The report is true. Came shortly after Google released it. eBay claimed it was to protect it's members becuase Google had no experience in that area. Certainly that's not the case anymore but it hasn't changed.

Google checkout is not the only payment service banned by ebay. There are a lot of them. To name a few: alertpay, moneygram, egold, stormpay. These services are banned for security reasons. Ebay said that using these payment services is unsafe for ebay members. I guess Google checkout is also banned because it is still untested and has yet to prove its reliability.

I would say this is definitely not their main reason for banning google checkout.
eBay just wants to stifle checkout and prevent users from turning away from paypal.
It's a very logical competitive move I would say.

Too bad, I think that Google could really establish themselves as a secured site to conduct online transactions with. It is just too bad I can't use Checkout in eBay.

I am an avid ebay user with over 150 feedback, and personally love the site! I have not applied for a google checkout account because of the very reason you have stated in the first post! I can't use it on ebay!!!!

Paypal is affiliated with Ebay. Now take note that countries with Ebay coverage has Paypal service. The writing on the wall is clear. Paypal would like to monopolize the payment system in Ebay for obvious reason. Wait for Google to have its own auction site.
