Is credit card a must?

I'm interested in getting started with Google Checkout, create my account with them, but I wanted to know first Do I need a credit card to sign up? Is it required to use the payment processor?

You will need first to be in the US and i think you will need a credit card.
If you are not in the US you will have to wait.

They are still in beta and opened to only few countries. If you are not from supported country, you have to wait. I think credit card is a must here.

It is not open to all the countries but where this account is open for the residents, credit card is required to open the account

yaah in order to verify it..credit card is definitely a must not option.anyway i am hoping for it to spread to other nations just like adsense and it will become awesome!

Yes, in google checkout you should definitely have a credit card to open your account unlike paypal where you can open an account without any cc info which what makes them so popular unlike google checkout and even that it is available only in certain countries!

Too bad google checkout is unavailable in where I live... I want to leave paypal soon. And yes, it is a pay method that needs your CC or bank acc.
