Checkout Why not successfull?

Google's checkout has been here for such a long time now. I really wonder why till now it has not been able to establish itself as a successfull processor just like paypal which is so popular, even after having a strong backing from Google.

It's still new and also not available worldwide, that might be the reason why it is not popular yet. Also its hard to destroy Paypal's monopoly.
