Hey.

Is Google Checkout just like Paypal??? Are there any advantages/disadvantages to it? Thanks!

I believe it is quite similar. Google tries to compete with Ebay's paypal business. They want to monopolize everything...

Yes, from what I've heard it's just like PayPal. But right now PayPal is strong than Checkout because more people have a PayPal account and hardly anyone is using Checkout, atleast from what I can tell.

Checkout doesn't have any processing fees til 2008! Plus you can tie it in to your adwords account, and get discounted processing based on what you spen on adwords.

Why still the need to sign up with Google Checkout if you can pay directly to a merchant using your credit card? To use Google Checkout, you still have to use your credit card.

exmen, Merchants have to use any credit card processing gateway, thats why a person has to use it while making purchases. Google checkout is one of them.

I too think it is quite similar. Yes, it is necessary if you wanna use Google Checkout, then you need to have your credit card with you.

I don't know, I haven't tried Google Checkout... I read somewhere that is needed to have a credit card, which I don't have... PayPal allows you to create an account without credit card.
