Default Paypal Phising Mails

This is not something new that i am saying but never update any of your details of paypal or any account via link. Just login manually and do all the necessary changes.

I have found that the Paypal Phising mails have following things in common:

- They are HTML email.
- Have similar subject like "Please, update your Paypal account".
- Sender is services@paypal.com.
- Visible link is https://www.paypal.com/cgi-bin/webscr?cmd=_login-run and the actual link called is the fake link similar to
http://www2.paypal.vg/~voided/cgi-bin/webscr-cmd_login-run.html
- The appearance of the mail is similar to the one you regularly receive from PayPal undoubtedly with a Paypal logo.

Thanks,

I have never had anything like this as of yet, but i think for some who is new to the internet would definately fall for it. They can be quite good.

Only emails i get from paypal are ones confirmaing payment

But i will look out for any unusual emails and never use a link to update any details etc. Just to be on the safe side

Thanks for the tip

Its one form of phishing. And many still fall prey with this trap. Just be vigilant with the emails you receive specially the URLs you visit. There is a thread in this forum for tips. But you can use Netcraft or Spoofstick applications in detecting phishing attempts.

I have got a couple of redirects for phishing pages, not everyone knows how to catch them though, that's the sad thing!

I have received emails that look like they were from eBay and PayPal asking me to deal with some issue with my accounts. I know they are fake because I'm aware of these scams. I won't click on any links in emails when it comes to site that deal with money.
