Default Firefox protection

I think that there is a protection feature that is included in firefox that warns you if you are going to a fraudulent website. Does this really work?

Yes, there is indeed an option you need to check to enable such warning, but those warning are fetched by Google, if firefox is linked with it it will display those warnings.
