Just avoid those forums which are established scams and which have not payed out even once. Only that way you can be assured that the forum in which you are posting is the right one and is not a fraud.

Referral contests are mostly scams. This is because the users try to scam a lot of times and in the end, the admin scams too many times. So, I would not advise you to join any referral contests.

if they are not selling something on there site or they are not generating sales normally they fall through. It is not always the owners fault of this but there sponsors back out which is a huge problem but they usually try to give something back if all else fails.

I think there is nothing truth in the claim of the webmaster. The only thing he was interested was you posting your posts in his forum now as you have completed the tash he can simply ignore you.

Referral contests are too good to be true because who can afford to pay for thousands of non-posting members. I suggest you not to take part in referral contests and stick to paid posting.
