There's really nothing you can do about that. I guess you just take a chance and hope that people will do right.

Try and contact the member obviously, then contact a moderator and use the forum chain of command. The member will then be banned if it's a good forum!

It's a tough thing to stop, but it can be done. You just have to set some strict and rigid guidelines.

there should be a mechanism to ensuree that the bidder honours his or her bid. some amount should be deducted from his account if he fails to do so.

I also hate non-paying buyers or those who win the bids in auction. I think you can't do anything with them other than reporting to the mods and admins of the forum.

it is important to keep track about the bidders. We dont know how many of them are genuine. Usaually they bid and gets abscond during the payment while some others issue bogus cheque or offer some illegal transaction details. So there is a need for everyone to be aware of all such threats.
