Posting competitions have become the talk of the day these days. Some pay the competitors while most of them are scammers. They give false promises but close the site when they need to issue the payments. And most of the gaming contests are like this

Such kind of activities do happen on the web. Much watch out for the reputation of such forums before putting up on the effort

Yes, i think its really disguisting , people work really hard in these competitions only to find out they have been closed....

that forum gained popularity, i remember it had almost 1000 members in a month or so and like 50k posts. They sold major advertising space and made money, people assumed thats where they got their money, A day before contest finished, guess what, the site said "page cannot be displayed", I doubt it was just me because i tried it from many other computers, Didnt know anyone on the forum outside of it so no way of knowing.

Just to share some exp with you guys about this.

Maybe they just moved servers or were experiencing downtime or something. Does sound fishy though. I think I know what forum you're talking about. They're pretty reputable...now.

He just got a lot of traffic and if he was using adsense maybe some clicks and money for him, that happens a lot of time on the internet, people scam people, those are the e-thiefs
