I am thinking of using my egold account for once but I think that you just cannot withdraw moiney through it without going through another broker.
Is that true?

Check on their website. Just exchange with someone for WU and its hassle free, secure and fast!

Think of it like real gold, you need to find someone to trade it in for you. With egold it's not that difficult as there are more than a few sites that will do a trade.

Thanks for the reply but is there a site that you will recommend personally as I do not want to lose money on my first transactions.

there are so many exchangers on the net which exchange egold for cash, paypal, money bookers and many more u can search for them at google just write "egold exchangers" and u will find dozens of them

I only wanted to find an exchanger that other people has tried and will recommend.
I do not want to lose my money.

Definitely, that is one reason why we joined such forums. To validate and learn from other's personal experiences with different online services. Who would want to lose money without reason anyway? I think you should read more posts regarding e-gold in this forum. I have encountered different threads that provides link to sites that can be an answer to your problem.

I have tried Cambist.net for WU withdrawal and it went smooth without any problem. Also used IceGold for withdrawal via Wire Transfer. I have also used Omnipay.com for check withdrawal.

I would recommend you Omnipay.com because this site is owned by same people as E-Gold.

www.e-forexgold.com, they've been on the market for more than 6 years, very professional and reliable. I've had many successful transactions with them.
