Default Beware of this email from e-gold

This is a fake message from someone not associated with egold. Do not respond to it I have discovered the hard way and lost a little bit of money but still feels bad getting ripped off. Do not go to this log on below just sent it to let you know what was sent to me.

Here are the details below:

This email is to inform you, that we had to deactivate your e-gold account access because we have been notified that your account may have been compromised by outside parties.

Our terms and conditions you agreed to state that your account must always be under your control or those you designate at all times. We have noticed some unusual activity related to your account that indicates that other parties may have access and or control of your information in your account.

These parties have in the past been involved with money laundering, illegal drugs, terrorism and various Federal Title 18 violations.

Account access will remain disabled until this issue will be solved. If you are the rightful holder of the account, please click on the link bellow and log in to your e-gold account.

https://www.e-gold.com/acct/login.html

The link will take you to our Account access page.

Please be aware that until we can verify your identity no further access to your account will be allowed and we will have no other liability for your account or any transactions that may have occurred as a result of your failure to reactivate your account as instructed above.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------
Thank you for your time and consideration in this matter!
-------------------------------------------------------------------------

I have given them the batch number to see if they can recover it but we shall see. They can get you just about any way so do not resond in an email from someone simply log on to egold and as them the questions and they will respond to you.

Take care,

Rick

Thats really worse tactics used by them. I dont know how people still fall for it when they see a fake URL easily by hovering the mouse. Anyways, thanks for heads up.

Thanks for the warning. E-gold is horrible if you get your account hacked. Especially since they don't have chargebacks.

Just another phishing attempt. The best way to deal with this is be vigilant with the way scammers work. There are variations. But the bottom line is you are given a fake link which will trap your user ID and password.

It is a good thing that I am not a member at e-gold because being my naive self I probably would have entered my information.

I'm not a member. Well I am but I don't use them. I never reply to any of these emails ever anyway though.
