I am interested in building a wap website where people can download ringtones and images.
Do you know any place where I can find a tutorial for this?

You can run a simple script that will incorperate your affiliate ads, assuming that's what you are going to use for the site!

I don't have specific sites with me but try searching for tutorials on XHTML. You can use this to create your WAP site. You just need some tweaking on your webserver to be able to display XHTML files on your mobile phone.
