Default How much to charge for web design?

I am thinking of getting into the business of web design and I want to know how much to charge for a website.
On what criteria do you evaluate?

A couple hundred bucks is standard but it really depends on your work

I would charge by how detailed it was.

A lot of people charge by graphic amount and page, others charge by time, hourly.

Get the most for your work with out overcharging.

It surely depends on the type of site if it's normal business site then there will be not much work to do compare to portal site which takes lots of efforts and time.

I charge them based on the design and creativity used. Some sites are simple but they are very creative, those are charged more because they stand out.

It depends on how experienced you are and how long does it take you to design it.
Lets say you are quite a professional in web designing, and you took 5 hours to do it. You could charge $10 per hour of your work.

If you're just starting and you are highly "inexperienced", then I would suggest doing webdesign for free or for a very low price because you want to build up your portfolio. If you went into the business charging $300+, then I doubt anyone will purchase services from you unless you have examples of your work. As stated before, it depends on your work.

You should evaluate on how long the design was made. It depends on your knowledge and skills of designing and coding. Everything starts small at first, but once you get the hang of it, you can increase your prices like everyone elses
