To be honest, unless you are expecting your forum to be incredibly popular with thousands upon thousands of posts per day, then you really don't need anything special.

Any server that supports MYSQL and PHP will do.

PHPBB is easy to install and set up, and a host that supports fantastico will allow you to install it in just a couple of clicks.

I'd just pick a host that you've been told is reliable, and that matches your budget.

I have found out dreamhost.com as a good hosting site ... it pays 97$ for referrals...but sadly has nothin for forums

I had done a web hosting with dot5hosting.com
seems a good one..
there are providing lot of benefits
i would say it as the best one

You better look into godaddy, I use them for myself.

Or go to ebay, I found some good offers going on in ebay also.
