Default Don't Ignore Your Creditors

If you have fallen behind on your credit card payments, don't ignore them. Take their calls and give them honest answers to the questions they will ask you.

They are the only people who can help you get out of trouble. Set up payment plans that can get you caught back up.

Some will even give you a deal for about 12 months called "hardship" They may lower your interest during this period if you can commit to making regular payments,

Remember, they can't send you to your room. And, they put there pants on every day just like you, one leg at a time.

I agree with you, it is better to be on the better side of your creditors rather than be on their bad side where they would prefer to make you suffer more. If you are on their good side, there is a possibility they can give you a break and give you better chances to pay your debt or something.

Personally, I believe it depends frmo creditor to creditor. I have not had this experience but my friend said that some creditors are far worse than others.

At the same time, there are also nice creditors. So i guess best thing is still not to ignore your creditors as MaryMary pointed out.

I don't understand why people tend to hide from their creditors. I don't ever want to do this cos I always want to have my integrity intact. If you are having problems with your payments, try to talk to them and give them the real reason why you can't be able to accomplish what is needed of you; and like the post said, they would even help you find a solution or maybe a payment plan with you problem.

Don't ignore your creditors, but be sure to always be on a good side of any person or company that you owe money to. Instead of giving you a hard time, they can even help you out in any way they can if you fall to deep in your debt.

yes its an important practice to talk it out with your creditors about the debt. they can not only find a way for you but also lessen your interest in some cases.. try it and see it for yourself

That's very good advice, although the credit card companies make it really hard to follow sometimes. I ended up having to ask for reduced payments for a while when I went back to university, and instead of them acting like they appreciated that I'd contacted them, they were very aggressive and treated me as if I was trying to get out of paying.

It is good to be honest with your creditors. Discuss with them your situation and explain why you were not able to pay for our debt. Creditors have this so-called account restructuring. They are going to give you affordable payment scheme and arrangements.

i don't hide from creditors, instead i ask why they are calling. if the representatives are rude, i also get rude. i know i pay on time, and when i'm late i usually have a good reason (like car trouble, family emergency). but if the people calling in (never had someone come to the house) are kind, i give them honest answers. remember, these people do this for a living, they can sniff out a lie. creditors can be your bestfriend as long as you fulfill your end of the bargain, and that is to pay.
