Rep Power: 0 ![]() | If you want to stay out of debt, a good one to do that is put everything on your debit card instead of your credit card. If you don't have enough money in your debit account, don't buy what you want - unless you need to. Save your money for it. |

Rep Power: 0 ![]() | I agree...I use my debit card for everything. Works just like a credit card..with none of the after affects... I don't get anything with credit anymore...i have one more credit card to pay off, then i'm through with them all. If i don't have the money for it...then i just have to wait. |

However, you still have to be careful, as some banks will allow you to charge up to $200-$300 dollars beyond what you have in your checking account. |

Rep Power: 2 ![]() | I'm going to have to disagree. You don't have anywhere near the recourse with debit cards as you do with credit cards if a fraudulent transaction is posted. Would you rather have to deal with credit card issues that are easily fixed, or an empty bank account which can cause incoming checks to bounce?
