Will you advise someone to get a credit card if he does not have one? What are its advantages and disadvantages? What precautions should you take with it?

precautions.. well... basically if you would want shop online and use credit card... use it wisely ;] dont shop at not well known shops... be sure your pc dont have any viruses or key loggers ;] there are a lot of them ;]

Having a credit card makes online payment convenient. However I will emphasize the need to safeguard the card by closely monitoring the account holder's statement of account. In this way, request for chargeback can be immediately filed.

I will definately advice because i think the life becomes much more easier as the credit card makes online payment convenient. But i would definately gonna tell him to take few preacaution measures too.

with debit cards, i advise one not to get a credit card. before you needed it for checking into hotels and renting cars.
