One good tip for you and as for all is to always pay on time. Always be on control, don't let your card control you as it did me.

Use your card only if needed. Credit card is a temptation for you to spend. If you spend more than what you can afford that spells trouble for you because you will end up in debt.

I only use cash when I pay for groceries and things that I buy personally. I only use my credit card when it is very much needed, say for example, online business. And for that, I also use paypal, which is a very good site that is friendly to its users.

It is fine to use your credit card sometimes, but don't get too dependent on it. Try using it in times of dire need. Like all the other posts said, self discipline and carefulness is the key.

My suggestion would be set up a direct debit to cover the minimum payment each month, so no matter what else happens, you won't get hit with late payment charges.

Then, pay the remainder of the balance by hand if you can - it's always a good idea to clear the balance every month - you're getting the use of the card interest free if you can do that.

Yes, some people actually use the interest free money they get from credit cards to make short term investments.

Thank you for sharing some tips here. Credit card is really a temptation to keep on spending and buying things that are not important.

I'll make sure to pay my monthly dues on time to avoid interests.
