Default Are Credit-Cards really that bad?

All I hear is the worst from credit cards, are they really that bad? I personally haven't gotten one yet, I am only 20, but I am thinking about getting one soon.

I'd get one just for emergency sake, after that, it's just over kill. You find yourself too easily charging up a storm, not realizing how you got into that situation. I know very few people who didn't follow that pattern. My advice, get a regular one, small credit limit and that's it. Avoid temptation to get others.

That's what I think I will look into. I have been looking into a Master Card with a $250 limit, and I will try my best to keep everything organized. I don't make that much money, so it could be really easy to go over.

Well they could be either, if you manage them correctly they can be a nice convience. But if you just spend without ever accounting your cost until the bill comes the debt can start building up fast. You may want to try a debit card first because you can't spend what isn't there. But you aren't as protected as with credit cards. Your choice

It really depends on what type of person you are... if you can manage money easily and want to build your credit quickly then a credit card is fine if it has a small limit on it that you can pay back right when you get the bill.

Credit cards are not bad its people that make them bad. When some people get a credit card they go crazy. You just have to know how to discipline your self.

Absolutely right, its the people who make it bad. If you use you Card wisely and cautiously, then I don't believe you will ever get into trouble

Credit cards are not bad if you can pay them every month, they feed on people that can not pay thier debt right away!

Using credit cards for online transaction is very convenient. For emergency cases, credit cards can come to the rescue. However if you abuse your card, that is where the trouble begins. It is important then to manage your finances and spending properly.

They are good to use on online purchases, as that's all I use mine for! Just make sure you spend what you can afford on the card!
