I myself would not use a credit card to buy groceries.some cards are just thier for the purchase of groceries only, I think you are talking about that only as you you can earn points on that.
No harm in using your credit card in purchasing groceries as long as you use if with with reputed organisations. You don't pay anything extra in cash. Additinoally you may earn good reward points for use of cc.
