Softpedia is an ok site but there is still alot of junk on there (spyware etc.) My suggestion would be Free Software Downloads and Software Reviews - Download.com run by CNet....there are always lots of reviews so you can be sure what you are getting is legit...

download.com from cnet is indeed the best. it offers a free trial of almost all its softwares.

I would like to try this softpedia. Is this the same with limewire and torrent, or they are completely different?

I used to download software from CNET. I just stopped when I had limewire and torrent.

I myself am a torrent person. I find all of their downloads to be safe and precise. Unlike those in downloaders like limewire and morpheus where they usually have viruses in some files as well.

I used to use CNet quite often, but haven't in a year. CNet is good, but I can get carried away too easily.

I love downloads.com! Mostly because when you search you get so many results you actually can decide which one to try. They also have reviews for many of the programs which is pretty nice.
