I use download.com for most of my trial downloads.
I like the reviews and the options I get on Download.com
I haven't tried Softpedia much so can't say about that.

Download.com rocks. But there are almost all shareware versions available there. Try sourceforge.net for a change it has all opensource and free softwares available.

C.net's download.com is the best site for softwares as well as reviews on lastest softwares and hardware products.
