Default Prevent Consumer Fraud

I would like to share the tips I have read from a website on how to prevent consumer fraud.

1. Always take your time when making a financial decision. Don't be afraid to refuse an offer and say no.

2. Never give your credit card number out over the phone unless you initiate the call and you knew the person on the other line.

3. Don't be overwhelmed by give-aways, promo and free prizes. There may be a catch.

4. Offers that sound too good to be true usually are. It's an Aladdin’s lamp.

5. Always report consumer fraud to authorities.

Although these tips are so simple, they are really effective. yet a lot of people don't use them and get scammed.

Thank you so much for the reminder. It is important that we should never allow anything like fraud to happen to anyone else. If we are a victim of certain modus operandi from fraudulent individuals, we should help others out through information. If we keep on allowing them to do what they do, it will never be stopped.

The number 2 tip really caught mu attention as it is the very first rule. You should not trust telemarketers, you can never know that they are for real. It is better if you initiate the call yourself, at least you will know that you are calling the right company.

Yep, I think it is better if you are the one who initiated the whole thing. If it is some telemarketer/spammer/someone who is just trying to rob you in some ways you don't know, you must realize that it is not good for a business to give away something without getting anything in return.. :P

And the point no.6 - Always let your common sense prevail over your other intelligent senses.
