Default Unsure of what to do.

Hi guys I'm hoping someone can offer an opinion on what my next step should be.

I purchased a Satellite receiver from a person on ebay. Through several ebay documented questions it was stated that it was fully functional and included an additional module for it. He then offered me the option to buy the product early for $160+shipping. When I agreed he then sent me a Paypal invoice for $175 for this receiver including shipping. I sent him the money via my paypal account using my mastercard and the ebay auction ended.

The same day he sent me tracking info. A week passed and so too does the estimated delivery date. I call the shipping company and they state that the item was never shipped, only the bill of lading was electronically created but the piece was never dropped off.

I then proceed to send multiple emails to the seller but now his ebay account is unregistered and doesnt answer any emails.

At this point, I open up a Non Reciept of item transaction dispute with paypal where he finally answers my questions and then ships the item. I finally receive it. At this point it has been 2 weeks since I payed him. Once I opended it to find that the extra "Vital" moduel that was supposed to come with it was not included. I asked him via the dipute where it was, he then proceeded to say he shipped it in the box with it and escilated tha claim and now I cant respond to him.

Shortly after this I discovered that the item was not only non-functional but showed clear signs of being tampered with. It had wired solderd onto the unit in spots.

So I proceeded to contact my mastercard company to dispute the charges. I have all emails, I have pictures as well showing the items condition.

My question is do I have to wait for paypal to sort out their claim first or should I proceed with the credit card dispute?

Just continue onto your credit card company. PayPal pretty much leaves it up to the buyer and seller to settle the dispute and by the looks of things, he's going to win.

I agree with Jerlene...You must take it up with your credit company at this point. Let us know how it works out!
